Is it worth listening to music online?

Almost every one of us has listened to a radio at some point of time or the other in this lifetime. There are some jocks that we take a fancy to or some kind of programming that we find fascinating. In most cases, it is the most popular music that is released from time to time.

With people’s preferences differing widely, it is not uncommon to see radio stations with different niches such as jazz, rock, pop and talk radio as well.

However, in the last few years, with the advent of the internet (specifically Web 2.0) with specialized application offering more than just information in the form of text, internet radio stations have also begun to spring up for a large audience.

While the internet seems to encourage copyright violations, music online has gotten a bad name, especially music that is downloadable either directly through search engine results, P2P clients or through using torrent software that enables you to download entire albums at will, and if it is available.

Internet radio, of course, still remains to be the most legal way to listen to music online while expanding its listener base exponentially, thanks to the wide expanse of the internet.

With countless legal issues still going against people who share music as well as other forms of media online, the concept of online radio still continues to work within the legal limits and because of this, will continue to grow in the years to come.
